What is a WLL Company?

A With Limited Liability (WLL) company is the most common business structure in Qatar, suitable for both foreign and local investors. It can have up to 50 shareholders and is ideal for trading, contracting, consulting, and general commercial activities.

Single Owner Company

1. Initial Consultation.

2. Document Collection for Project Report Preparation

After the initial consultation is completed, our team will proceed to collect the following documents from the owner and partners to prepare a comprehensive business project report:

  • Suggested trade names for the business
  • Suggested activity for the business
  • Qatar ID (QID) Copy – for both the owner and all partners
  • Passport Copy – for the owner and all partners
  • National Address Certificate – of the owner and all partners
  • Email Address and Contact Number – for effective communication
  • Capital Amount and share details of each share holder
  • Mobile number to be registered
  • Email address to be registered

These details and documents are essential to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely progression of your company formation process.

3. Project report preparation

After collection of documents from the customer, our team will prepare the project report and submit to customer for final review.

Process of application:

We submit the application by entering the following details step by step:

  • Details of applicant
  • Details of Trade name
  • Details of Activity
  • Details of Authorized signatories
  • Details of Ultimate beneficial owner
  • Details of employees to be hired into the company
  • Details of capital amount and share proportion
  • Details of Tax payer
  • Details of Capital amount and mobile number to be registered
  • Final Review and submit the application for approval

4. Application submission

Once the application is submitted, an application summary will be generated and issued by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and it will be shared through registered email address.

Once the application is submitted. The below process will be completed with a timeline of 3 to 7 working days:

  • Commercial Registration Approval
  • Trade Name Reservation
  • Signing of Article of Association

Stages of Approvals

Stage 1: Commercial Registration Approval

This document serves as the official legal identity of your business in Qatar and is a mandatory requirement to begin operations.

Stage 2: Trade Name Reservation Approval

The requested trade name will be officially reserved and secured for processing company registration approvals.

Stage 3: Signing of Article of Association

The Articles of Association is prepared by MOCI mentioning shareholding structure, capital distribution, company activities, approved trade name and clauses in Arabic and English. Once the approval for commercial registration and commercial name is done, then the AOA is ready for sign by all partners. Once the Articles of Association are signed by the owner and partners, the document will be submitted to the Ministry of Justice for final review and approval. Upon approval of the final review, the payment process will be initiated to proceed for the final step of company registration.

5. Payment and Issue of Commercial Registration:

Upon successful payment of mentioned amount by the applicant or owner of the company in single window, the below documents will be issued by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry:

  • Labor Confirmation
  • Application Summary Report
  • Commercial Registration
  • Reserve Trade Name Certificate
  • Signed Article of Association (AOA)
  • Tax Card
  • Computer card in Metrash wallet

The customer or the company owner will get the below documents as official documents from the ministry upon successful payment of the application in single window:

  • Commercial Registration (CR) is the official license issued by Qatar’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MOCI) that legally authorizes a company to operate in the country. It serves as the company’s legal identity and is a mandatory requirement for conducting business activities, opening bank accounts, and applying for visas.
  • Labor Confirmation is the official approval issued by Qatar’s Ministry of Labour that authorizes a company to hire employees under its sponsorship. It involves verifying the company’s legal status, commercial registration, and office space, and allows the business to apply for work permits and residence visas for staff. This is a crucial step in setting up the company’s workforce legally in Qatar.
  • Trade Name Certificate is an official document issued by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MOCI) in Qatar, confirming the reservation and approval of a company’s trade name. It ensures that the selected business name is unique, legally compliant, and protected for use during the company registration process. This certificate is a mandatory prerequisite for proceeding with commercial registration.
  • Signed Articles of Association is a legally binding document that outlines the company’s structure, ownership, share distribution, and objectives. Once signed by the owner(s) and partners, it formalizes their agreement and is submitted to the relevant authorities for approval during the company formation process.
  • Tax Card is an official document issued by Qatar’s General Tax Authority (GTA) that registers your company for tax purposes. It enables your business to comply with local tax regulations, file tax returns, and conduct financial transactions legally within Qatar. Obtaining a Tax Card is a mandatory step after commercial registration.
  • Computer Card is an official identification issued by Qatar’s Ministry of Interior to registered companies. It serves as the company’s unique establishment ID for all government-related transactions, including immigration, labor affairs, and visa processing. The Computer Card is essential for managing employee permits and maintaining legal compliance.

6. Assistance with Office Space or Virtual Address Setup to obtain commercial permit

Once the Commercial Registration is issued, our team will move on to the process of getting commercial license for the company by collecting the below documents from the customer or the building owner:

Once the above documents are received, our team will start preparing the necessary documents for submitting application for commercial license approval.

Once the documents are ready, we will notify the customer to collect the signature from the building owner and licensee, after getting the signature and stamp of the company from the customer, our team will submit the application for commercial license approval along with the required documents.

Once the application is submitted, the entire process is typically completed within 1 to 4 working days, depending on the nature of the business and regulatory approvals. Upon receiving the final approval, the commercial license will be issued, officially authorizing the customer to commence business operations in Qatar.
